ABOUT THE JOURNAL 

The Scholastic Forum is A Bi-annual Refereed journal of Language, Literature and Culture (ISSN Number: 2395-0889) published by DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh. The journal was started in 2015 and has steadily risen into prominence.

 

The Scholastic Forum is a national academic journal committed to exploring the issues primarily related to issues of Language, Literature and Cultural Studies. The Scholastic Forum caters to true glorious minds that have an eye and are keen to explore literary journey through some qualitative approaches. We have designed a journal that places a high premium on readability and discussions on various issues pertaining to language, literature and culture.

 

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Scholastic Forum invites quality original research papers/articles on theoretical, Comparative Studies, Literary Studies, Cultural Studies and Analysis, Linguistics Analysis, Original Poetry and Short Stories and Book Reviews concerning different aspects of Language, Literature and Culture.

 

GUIDELINES FOR THE AUTHORS

In order to consider the paper for review it should be submitted in the prescribed format-

  1. Manuscripts should be typed in double space on A-4 size sheets, in Times New Roman and Font size12.
  2. Manuscripts and all editorial correspondence, including comments on the contents of the journal, should be addressed to: The Editor, The Scholastic Forum, DAV College, Sector 10 Chandigarh. E-mail: scholasticdav@gmail.com
  3. Manuscripts should be in the range of 3000-4000 words including abstract, keywords, references and endnotes.
  4. All articles must be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 150-200 words.
  5. Notes should be numbered serially and presented at the end of the article. Notes, other than website sources, must contain more than a mere reference.
  6. Single quotes should be given right through the articles and double quotes should be given within single quotes. Spellings of words in quotations should not be changed. Quotations of 45 words or more should be separated from the text and indented with one space with a line space above and below.
  7. References should be indicated in the text by superscript numbers continuously and listed at the end. Some examples of various types of documents are given below:

 

For Books 

Surname, Initials (Year), Title of Book, publisher, Place of Publication, Pages e.g. Kissinger, Henry A. (1994), Diplomacy, Simon and Schuster, New York, pp 23-24.

 

For Journals 

Surname, Initials (Year), “Title of Article”, Journal Name, Volume, Number, Pages. e.g. Capizzi, M.T. and Ferguson, R. (2005), “Loyalty trends for the twenty-first century”, Journal of Consumer marketing, Vol. 22, No. 2, pp. 72-80.

 

For Internet Sources 

If available online, the full URL should be supplied be supplied at the end of the references, well s a date that the resource was accessed.

  1. It should be original and unpublished work. On acceptance for publication the author will have to send a signed declaration that it has not been published or submittted for publication elsewhere in any language either fully or partly. In case of co-authored paper, all the authors shall sign this declaration.
  2. The author is requested to give his complete address, email and contact number on the front page with title of the paper. The name of the author should not appear on any other page of the paper. It will be apreciated if the author gives brief biographical sketch of himself giving his research interests.
  3. Manuscript not accepted for publication will not be returned to the authors. Please keep copies for your own record.
  4. The views expressed in the articles are personal opinions of the contributors and the journal is in no way responsible for them.
  5. If the paper of the contributor is accepted for publication, it will be mandatory for him to subscribe the journal for one year.
