About the Publication

SOCIUS PRUDENCE is a magazine-cum-journal that cherishes the innate virtue of 'learning' among students. The magazine aims to escalate the status and trait of sociological research and originality among the students. It celebrates the amorphous nature of sociology as a social science, thereby encouraging inter-disciplinary works originating from various allied disciplines. The forte of SOCIUS PRUDENCE is to enrich the sociological student firmament.

It allows the works of Under Graduate students to be published. SOCIUS PRUDENCE is open to all Indian Universities for contributions. It is first such magazine in India.

'SOCIUS' is a latin word that means 'companion', 'SOCIUS' and 'logos' share the origin of the word 'SOCIOLOGY'. The word 'Society' also originates from the word 'Socious' .The quality of being aware and observant is referred to as 'PRUDENCE'. Therefore, in a sociological hue, SOCIUS PRUDENCE denotes the 'awareness of society'.

The magazine cum journal is a bi-annual publication encouraging sociological aptitude beyond the classroom. The cover page of this magazine-cum-journal is inspired from the boundless scope of subjective sociological interpretations. Each photograph is embedded with multiple sociological interpretations. The publication aims to ignite the ability of application of thought to action.

SOCIUS PRUDENCE is a Promethean effort undertaken by the under graduate students of the  Department of Sociology in D.A.V. College, Chandigarh. The academic aberrations in the articles by the students are taken in a positive stride as they encourage creative thought. The intentions of the articles should be strictly sociological and academic. This makes the selection process of articles by students very stringent.
