NSS Programming Officer

Established in the year 1971 by Professor A.K. Kakkar, NSS unit of DAV College aims at developing students’ personality through community service. The objective is to instill the idea of social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. 

Every year the volunteers engage themselves in a variety of activities such as rallies, awareness programmes, seminars, cleanliness drives, tree plantation, blood donation camps, surveys, International Youth Exchange Programmes, Youth Parliaments, visits to villages, blind schools, orphanages, old age homes,  etc. The NSS unit of the college also runs a 24 X 7 blood helpline. Panjab University has awarded the NSS Unit of DAV college with  “Best NSS Unit Award” among the colleges of UT Chandigarh for the academic session 2017-18 and 2018-19. 

Under the able guidance of Programme Officers Prof. Rakesh Rani , Dr. Suman Kapur , Prof. Sandeep Singh and Prof. Suraj Narayan , the volunteers are tirelessly striving  towards bringing a positive change in the society.
